How Fincai works, step by step
Fincai turns a market question into reviewable analysis by reading market data, consulting specialist agents, pricing options when needed, checking configured limits, and previewing an order before manual execution. Autonomous strategies follow your saved rules in paper mode by default, with live trading as an explicit opt-in. Last updated 2026-09-01.
Step 1: market data ingestion. Fincai starts with live quotes and historical price bars rather than a made-up quote. Its market-data service uses Alpaca with an Alpha Vantage quote fallback and shows unavailable or error states when a source cannot provide data. Step 2: multi-agent analysis. Technical, sentiment, and fundamental agents examine separate parts of a question before a structured bull/bear debate presents opposing evidence and market-regime context.
Step 3: options pricing and Greeks. When a question involves options, a broker-independent engine calculates delta, gamma, theta, vega, rho, implied volatility, break-evens, and payoff scenarios. Step 4: risk checks. Users can inspect payoff scenarios, position sizing, Value at Risk, and saved strategy rules. Autonomous runs re-check position and notional caps against the live price at entry and use a market-hours guard for live activity.
Step 5: order preview and confirmation. Manual equity trades are confirmation-first: the chat or terminal prepares a preview and no manual order is sent until the user approves it. Step 6: monitoring and exit logic. A server-side runner applies configured entry, stop-loss, profit-target, trailing-stop, and time-stop rules, persists its state, and supports individual stops and a global kill switch.
What Fincai does not do: it does not guarantee results, predict the market, provide personalized financial advice, receive a Robinhood password, or move funds or securities. Live autonomous strategies are distinct from manual orders: after a user explicitly arms a live run, it may place and close equity orders within configured limits without a separate confirmation for each order.
Fincai's analysis is generated by AI systems that can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong, including in ways that read as confident and specific. Treat every output as a starting point for your own research, not a conclusion. Verify before you act.
You are solely responsible for the orders placed and the positions held in your account. Manual trades require your explicit confirmation before they are sent. If you arm a strategy in live mode, you authorize it to place and close orders automatically within the limits you set, without a separate confirmation for each order — you can pause or stop it at any time.
