Broker-native assistants may offer a convenient account workflow, but users should verify their scope, safeguards, and availability directly with the broker.
A direct MCP connection lets a compatible AI client discover and call tools from a separate server. The client, server, permissions, and broker each remain part of the workflow. A dedicated trading assistant can combine market data, analysis, risk controls, options tooling, and strategy state in one interface, but its claims and pricing still need independent review.
Before connecting an account, compare permissions, execution boundaries, data and calculations, failure handling, and transparency. Identify what the AI can read, propose, or execute. Distinguish a manual confirmation from an armed automation path. Check for unavailable-data states, paused errors, duplicate-order protection, and a stop mechanism outside the model.
